Rajju Porutham is attached greater importance in marriage matching process.
The reason is that Rajju Porutham is considered as ensuring the Maangalya Bakyam of the Girl.
The 27 Nakshatras are grouped into 5 categories. Each category is assigned a name representing a segment of the human body.
The general principle is that the Boy and the Girl should not belong to the Nakshatras which fall under the same Rajju. This means Eka Rajju is incompatible.
The important factor is that because Rajju signifies the Maangalya Bakyam, no one is prepared to make a compromise on this Porutham.
The 5 Groups of Rajju are
Sirasu Rajju
Kanda Rajju
Udhara Rajju
Ooru Rajju
and
Paada Rajju.
The Nakshatras of the Girl and the Boy should not fall within the same Rajju. Then, it is considered as Eka Rajju and becomes incompatible and mis-matching.
Sirasu Rajju comprises the following Nakshatras.
Mrigaseersham, Chithirai and Avittam.
If both the Boy and the Girl belong to any of the above 3 Nakshatras, they fall under Eka Rajju. It constitutes Rajju Dosham and is incompatible.
Kanda Rajju comprises the following Nakshatras.
Rohini, Hastham, Thiruvonam, Thiruvadirai, Swathi and Sadayam
If both the Boy and the Girl belong to any of the above 6 Nakshatras, they fall under Eka Rajju. It constitutes Rajju Dosham and is incompatible.
Udhara Rajju comprises the following Nakshatras.
Krithigai, Uthiram, Uthiradam, Punarpoosam, Visakam and Poorattathi
If both the Boy and the Girl belong to any of the above 6 Nakshatras, they fall under Eka Rajju. It constitutes Rajju Dosham and are incompatible.
Ooru Rajju comprises the following Nakshatras.
Bharani, Pooram, Pooradam, Poosam, Anusham and Uthirattathi
If both the Boy and the Girl belong to any of the above 6 Nakshatras, they fall under Eka Rajju. It constitutes Rajju Dosham and is incompatible.
Paada Rajju comprises the following Nakshatras.
Aswini, Makam, Moolam, Ayilyam, Kettai and Revathi
If both the Boy and the Girl belong to any of the above 6 Nakshatras, they fall under Eka Rajju. It constitutes Rajju Dosham and is incompatible.
It should be ensured that both the Girl and the Boy do not fall under the same Rajju Group of Nakshatras. If the Nakshatras of the Girl and the Boy fall under the same Rajju, it constitutes Rajju Dosham. Such horoscopes are mutually incompatible.
It is believed that if the horoscopes are free from Rajju Dosham, the Girl will have a lasting Mangalya Bakyam.
